I strive to create an environment that is all inclusive with shared responsibility and accountability for all parties navigating the therapeutic process. By offering both in person in Plainville, CT and virtual services, I am able to support clients state wide and provide more flexibility to meet clients needs.
Through a trusting and supportive relationship, we will work together to understand more about you and your life story. My supportive, honest and problem solving approach will help you to move past the blockages and self doubt to uncover the strengths and light you naturally posses. Together we will work to improve and address concerns, set goals related to the information you bring to the table with the goal of improving and addressing concerns and help you move forward and live your definition of a better life. We will look at past experiences, patterns of thinking, roots of emotions with an honest systemic understanding, and build skills to create functional and comfortable ways of living.
I gently guide couples to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of how they operate in the world, and I gently guide partners to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of how they operate in the world, which then drives dynamic changes. I want the couple to have significant, long term change and not just a quick fix. I provide an inclusive, social conscious therapy that is unbiased and nurturing.
The goal of family therapy is to support the members who are struggling to communicate with their child or unsure of how to intervene in sibling conflicts. My area od specially focuses on teens 16+ and youth adults with their families either their families of origin or their legal guardians. As a previous CPS worker, I have extensive experience supporting families to set boundaries. Family therapy can help all parties listen with empathy and be more open to each other's experiences.
Consultations are a way to work with guardians/caretakers/family members around an specific concern. Consultations are designed to support as a to support the family as they navigate a new phase of life, or whether a family is experiencing a certain transition and the family needs additional support. I also work with parents around understanding their child's emotions around adoption or foster parenting and parental lifestyle changes.
I graduated in 2016 but was not able to get licensed until 2020 despite having my clinical hours in 2018 due to working full time outside of the field. At the time, I could not afford to leave the job I had or pay $200+ that some clinicians quoted me per hour and it was very difficult to find an LMFT at an agency that worked around my full time job. I am looking to pay it forward by providing supervision at a very reasonable rate either in person (in the central CT area) or virtual. The ideal person is going through the same difficulties securing supervision as I once did - not having the time for a part time or an LMFT at their site. I am in the process of becoming a AAMFT approved supervisor. I have experience working with a diverse life state beginning with teens up until end of life both in home, in an agency and now in private practice as well as CPS experience with DCF. I do everything myself for my practice and can also offer insight into that aspect of the field.
